RIAA hates you!

I am not going to spend much time explaining today's story, I am just going to point it out and then make fun of it. That seems so much easier.

So the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is pissed. They want you to stop taking their music. You might remember this was the group who tried to sue Youtube and the judge said, "Get that shit out of here."

However, now they have a new idea. Make a law against Google! That's right! Now they are saying Search Engines should be responsible about their content.

Does this seem weird to you? Is Bank of American going to sue Nike if bank robbers are wearing Jordan's at the time of the robbery? Are People going to sue McDonald's when their kids get fat? Oh wait...

Besides the obvious of what is wrong with this, the Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act (try saying that three times fast) should stop this.

What pisses me off the most is the fact that the whole piracy music problem started because industries were screwing the consumer. I remember paying 25 dollars for a CD which had one good song on it. Then some people got smart, they said screw this let's just have one person buy it and the rest of us can burn it. Thank god.

Do I feel bad for this industry? No. Just like I don't feel bad that Blockbuster is filing for bankruptcy. Here is the beauty of capitalism. Blockbuster screwed all of us when we were younger. Charging 7 dollars to borrow a movie. Then Red Box came around and made it a dollar a night. BAM! Blockbuster is done. Point of this whole post, don't fuck over your consumers. They will take it for a while and then go find something better.

But it gets even better. Cary Sherman, the RIAA President has said that he hopes this bill doesn't pass with out the corporation of the search engines, of course we know how that goes.
