And here come the Catholics. Today, the Catholic church is in the news for only allowing men to be a priest. Great. Now, churches are not only anti-gay, but they are anti-women.

If you havent heard about the story, Father Stephen Wang came out and said that the women could not be Catholic preachers because they could not take the place of Jesus. Really, Father? Are these the same men who rape alter boys? These are the men who are taking the place of Jesus?  I think I will pass on that idea.

This is a joke. Come on, this the same church who has been conning people for hundreds of years. If you have taken any college history courses you know about Indulgences. These were the pieces of paper you could buy for full or partial remission of temporal punishment.

These were the same papers that Martin Luther spoke out about in his 95-thesis he nailed to the wall.

They speak like they are hollier than thou, but when you look at their history this is a religion that has had "Holy Wars" and the IRA in Ireland.

I suppose I bring up the IRA because right now religion is a big deal with Al-Queda and Muslim religion, but it's a great example of how someone can speak out about an issue when they have their own dirty secrets.

How they can come out and say these things that are stuck in the 18th century? This is the same religion who came out and said that condoms are a bad thing. Yeah, tell that to people who don't have aids.

I say screw it,  let women be preachers and if Westboro Baptist Church can be led by a woman, so can the Catholics.

RIAA hates you!

I am not going to spend much time explaining today's story, I am just going to point it out and then make fun of it. That seems so much easier.

So the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is pissed. They want you to stop taking their music. You might remember this was the group who tried to sue Youtube and the judge said, "Get that shit out of here."

However, now they have a new idea. Make a law against Google! That's right! Now they are saying Search Engines should be responsible about their content.

Does this seem weird to you? Is Bank of American going to sue Nike if bank robbers are wearing Jordan's at the time of the robbery? Are People going to sue McDonald's when their kids get fat? Oh wait...

Besides the obvious of what is wrong with this, the Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act (try saying that three times fast) should stop this.

What pisses me off the most is the fact that the whole piracy music problem started because industries were screwing the consumer. I remember paying 25 dollars for a CD which had one good song on it. Then some people got smart, they said screw this let's just have one person buy it and the rest of us can burn it. Thank god.

Do I feel bad for this industry? No. Just like I don't feel bad that Blockbuster is filing for bankruptcy. Here is the beauty of capitalism. Blockbuster screwed all of us when we were younger. Charging 7 dollars to borrow a movie. Then Red Box came around and made it a dollar a night. BAM! Blockbuster is done. Point of this whole post, don't fuck over your consumers. They will take it for a while and then go find something better.

But it gets even better. Cary Sherman, the RIAA President has said that he hopes this bill doesn't pass with out the corporation of the search engines, of course we know how that goes.

Thank god for religion.

I had not intended to post today, but something has been bugging me, so I figured I would fire up the blog for a quick post.

St. Vincent’s school in Bedford, Texas has come up lately in the news because of their problem with lesbians.

Olivia Harrison is a 4-year-old girl in Bedford. She was suppose to attend St. Vincent. Then right before school started Chaplin Randy Foster gave her the boot citing, "The canons of our church take a traditional stand on Christian marriage."

Really Chaplin? So do you mean to tell me that if a child, boy or girl, parents were to cheat on one another, you would kick them out of school too?

Here we have a great example of the pure hatred a church can harbor. Listen, religion can be a great thing, it can guid people in times of need, and put them in a great place. But tell me this isn't discrimination.

This is a church and school who receives a massive tax break thanks to our government, and they are going to reject this girl because she has two moms? I think not.

People who ignore gay rights should be appalled by this. Now kids are being affected because Church’s won't recognize rights of homosexuals.

What really pisses me off is the message this sends to the child, little Olivia is now going to have to live with the fact that because her mothers were born different, she is now the odd one, she is the different one, all because of a church’s decision.

For the Church’s sake I just hope that if some kids dad cheats on his mom with a stripper they give him the boot too. After all, they believe in a traditional stand on Christian marriage.

Food for thought

Today will be short and sweet. Knocking out the first post seems like a lot of work, pressure I don't want. So to start it off, I am going to throw this out today.

When ever you walk into Krogers, Maynards, or Piggly Wiggly do you think about what you are getting? I mean do you pick up grapes and think, "Geez, I don't mind that this traveled here from South America or Africa?"

Take a little bit of time and read this. It's amazing how little people think about this subject.

Japan has an interesting solution. They are telling their consumers the amount of miles traveled with food as well as a POCO number that shows the carbon footprint. You can read about that here.

Enjoy your next meal.
